EN Safety instructions

Intended use

The product is used exclusively for giving aroma to the air in dry, closed indoor

rooms. The product is not intended for commercial use but rather only domestic

use. Intended use also includes compliance with all information and specica-

tions contained in these operating instructions. Any use other

than for its intended purpose shall be deemed as misuse.

Misuse

Misuse of the product can lead to hazardous situations.

• Fill the product only with water or aromatic water and use no other

liquids.

• Do not use the product in wet rooms, such as bathrooms or saunas.

• Do not use the product in rooms with open re (replace, gas

cooker, candles etc.).

• Do not insert any objects into the openings of the product.

• Do not place the product directly in front of an air conditioning unit

or other electrical devices.

• The device must be used only with the adaptor

(SW-240050) supplied with the appliance.

Children

• This device can be used by children of 8 years of age and above

and by persons with restricted physical, sensory or mental capacity

or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have

been instructed on the safe use of the device and understand the

resultant hazards.

• Make sure that the product is set up out of the reach of children.

• Make sure that children are not allowed to play with the product at

any time.

• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children

without supervision.

• Do not leave packaging material lying around unattended. There is

a risk of asphyxiation.

Improper handling

• Improper handling of the product can cause injuries.

• Make sure that the product is connected properly. In the process,

adhere to these operating instructions.

• Make sure that the product is used properly. Never cover it.

• Be aware that unauthorised conversion and / or modication of the

product is prohibited. In case of unauthorised conversion and / or

modication the warranty cover will be rendered null and void.

• Never open the water tank during operation.

• Before lling or emptying the product, always pull the mains plug

from the socket.

• Before installation, cleaning or a period in which the product is not

used, pull the mains from the socket.

• Empty the water tank before a period in which the product is not

used.

• Contact the manufacturer or a specialist if you have any doubts

regarding the way the product works, its safety or how to connect

the product.

Setting up

• If liquids, damp air or re come into contact with the product, there is

a risk of injuries.

• Do not set up the product in rooms with high air humidity, such as

bathrooms or saunas.

• Make sure that no liquids enter into the inside of the housing. This

will not only destroy the product but there is also a risk of re.

• Protect the product from the effects of the elements. Do not set it

up outdoors.

• Only ever place the product on at surfaces. If placed on an

inclined surface, water from the water tank may enter into the housing.

Scope of supply

Please check rst of all that the device is complete and is not damaged in any

way. In case of doubt, do not use the it and contact your dealer or your service

centre. The following parts are included:

• 1 medisana Aroma diffuser

• 1 Power supply

• 1 Measuring cup

• 1 Instruction manual

If you notice any transport damage during unpacking, please contact your dealer

without delay.

Operation

• Remove the tank cap

and ll the water tank up to the “MAX” mark with

fresh drinking water (approx. 100 ml). Optional: Add 3 to 5 drops of water-

soluble Aroma Essence.

• Replace the tank cap

• Connect the power supply unit and aroma diffuser to the connection for

power supply

and then plug the power supply unit into the mains socket.

Make sure that this remains easily accessible.

• Switch on the aroma diffuser with touch button

. Switching on is only pos-

sible with a correctly lled water tank.

• Use the light button

to activate/deactivate the LED at the base of the unit.

• Switch off the unit by pressing button

. When the water tank is empty, the

appliance switches off automatically; a long warning tone is sounded.

• Disconnect the mains plug from the socket if you no longer wish to use the

appliance.

• Empty the water tank if you do not want to use the appliance for a longer

period of time.

Disposal

This product must not be disposed of together with domestic waste.

All users are obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices,

regardless of whether or not they contain toxic substances, at a

municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed

of in an environmentally acceptable manner. Consult your municipal authority or

your dealer for information about disposal.

Device and controls

Cleaning and maintenance

• Before cleaning, pull the mains plug.

• Empty the device after each use and dry the water tank with a cloth.

• Wash the water tank with clear water when you wish to change the aroma.

This prevents mixing different aromas.

• Only clean the outside of the device with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Then rub it

dry with a soft, dry cloth.

• Do not under any circumstances us brushes, sharp cleaning implements, ben-

zene, thinners or alcohol.

Descaling

Descale the device after ve or six uses or every 14 days. To do so, proceed as

follows:

1. Disconnect the device from the power supply.

2.

Fill the water tank with a maximum of 70 ml and add a tablespoonful of citric acid.

3. Allow the liquid to take effect for at least fteen minutes.

4. Empty out the liquid.

5. Rinse the water tank with fresh water.

6. Wipe out the water tank with a dry cloth.

A guarantee on this device is provided which is valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.Should this product

be defective, you can assert your legal rights against the retailer. These legal rights are not affected by our

guarantee, which is described in the following.

Processing a guarantee claim

To ensure your request is processed quickly, please observe the following information:

1. Should functional errors or other faults occur, please start by contacting the service point specied in the fol-

lowing by telephone or by e-mail.

2. Please keep your receipt and the item number IAN 345341_2004 on hand as proof of purchase.

3. A product which has been registered as defective can be sent, without postage, to the Service address given

to you by the Service point. You must enclose proof of purchase (receipt) and details about the defect and

when it occurred.

Guarantee conditions

The guarantee period begins with the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt. This document

is required for proof of purchase. If a material or production fault occurs in this

product within 3 years of the date of purchase, the product will be repaired for you free of charge, or replaced –

at our discretion. This guarantee service requires that the defective device and the proof of purchase (receipt)

are sent in, along with a brief description of what the defect is and when it occurred, within the three-year

period. If the defect is covered by our guarantee, the product will be returned to you as a repaired product or a

new product. No new guarantee period begins upon repair or replacement. Any damage and defects already

present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Once the guarantee period has

expired, you will be billed for any repairs required. The guarantee service applies for material or production

faults. This guarantee does not extend to product components subject to normal wear and can therefore be

considered to be wearing parts or damage to fragile parts, e. g. switches or parts made of glass. This guar-

antee expires if the product is damaged, has not been used properly, or was subject to maintenance work. To

ensure the product is used properly, all instructions included in the operating manual must be complied with ex-

actly. Using the product for purposes or procedures which the operating manual discourages or warns against

must be avoided.

The product is intended for private use only and not for commercial use. If the product is subject to improper

and inappropriate treatment, the use of force, or service work which is not carried out by our authorised service

ofce, the guarantee will be voided.
